Colors and backgrounds

Color does most of the work in making a page feel like yours. Pick an accent, then choose what sits behind your links, from a single color to a short looping video.

  1. 1Step 1

    Pick an accent color

In Appearance, choose Accent color and tap a swatch, or enter any color. Match my photo suggests colors taken from your profile photo.

  2. 2Step 2

    Choose a background

Under Background, pick Solid, Gradient or Photo. Gradients can run down, right, diagonally or up, or blend as a soft mesh. Photos can be blurred, darkened, lightened or turned duotone so your links stay readable.

  3. 3Step 3

    Add texture or movement

Add a Texture such as grid, lines, grain, waves or contours. Animation adds a moving gradient or floating shapes, at a slow, normal or fast speed.

  4. 4Step 4

    Use a video background

Choose a video to play behind your page, without sound. Use an MP4 or WebM, up to 20 seconds and 8 MB. Visitors on a slow connection see its first frame.

Good to know

  • If a color makes text hard to read, a Low contrast chip appears. Tap Fix to adjust it.
  • Fine-tune lets you set the colors of your name and bio, secondary text, card background, card text and card border one by one.
  • Gradients take an exact angle, textures take their own color, size and strength, and a background photo can be zoomed to the part you want.
  • Turn on Match the visitor's dark mode in Layout, and visitors whose phone is set to dark see a dark version of your page.

Questions

What size should a background photo be?

A tall photo works well, since most visitors are on a phone. Keep the important part near the middle.
